
Gingerbread House Contest Rules

Houses must be primarily constructed of gingerbread or graham crackers.

Foam board, cardboard, or wood bases may be used underneath the structure for support.

All visible construction materials (walls, roof, and decorations) must be 100% edible.

Adhesives must be edible only (royal icing, melted sugar, or similar). No hot glue, tape, or pins.

Maximum base size: 18" x 18". Maximum height: 24".

Entries must be presented on a sturdy base for transport.

Each entry should include a theme/title card.

Any type of candy, cereal, cookies, nuts, or edible items may be used.
-
Sprinkles, food coloring, and edible glitter are encouraged.

Battery-operated lights are allowed, but must be hidden and not part of the edible structure.

Structures must be original and made by the contestant/team.

Pre-baked gingerbread or graham crackers are acceptable, but no pre-assembled kits.

Teams may consist of individuals, families, or groups (limits to be set by organizers).

Judging Criteria: Creativity & Originality, Overall Appearance, Difficulty & Execution, Use of Edible Materials.

Entries must be delivered by the set deadline and remain on display until the event ends.
-
Late entries cannot be accepted.
-
Judges’ decisions are final.
